Can't you do this in windows media player???

Windows Media Player is pony, plus MP3 is some sort of trademark that you need to by software for. The MP3 it does create is not 'true' MPS so probably won't work in an MP3 player, however they habe no problem with you making WMAs from MP£s...

....but there is a way around it.

There is a programme call Audacity that has an MP3 encoder as well as a lot of other music editing functions and plug-ins which is downloaded free from here

    http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Now this converts WAV files to MP3, and normally you can easily convert WMAs into WAV through a programme like Nero Mix or most other CD burning software (so far as I know, WAV is a file conversion rather than a total new encode)

All in all, Audacity is a handy programme to have if you like mucking around with music anyway
