I take the 270 exam on Friday morning. I've been using the MS Press 2nd Edition book and seemed fine with that, plus I've been using and supporting XP for years.

However, the Transcender exams have shown a few holes in my knowledge, mainly where it comes to it 'crossing over' with Server stuff (Group Policys etc..) as these are areas I'm not so hot in at the moment. I've got a few days left so I've noted all my weak areas and am cramming those.

Wish me luck, at least if I fail I can use the free retake MS are offering! I'll post the outcome on Friday after the exam.

Well I did the exam this morning and got a score of 846, so passed quite nicely. Lets just say that the Transcender exams were a godsent and I don't think I would have passed without them to be honest.

One strange thing, I got asked 3 of the questions twice .. :blink

I think I'll do 271 and 272 next and get the MCDST then go onto 290.

And I've noticed the 'duplicate' question oddity in the CompTIA exams!

On two of the questions no, but on one of them I narrowed it down to it being one of 2 choices, so went with one on the first and the other choice on the second.

Just been checking through a few 271 test questions, wow, they're easy compared to the 270 ones. Don't think I'll need much revision time before I do that. Now just to persuade work to pay for it!

Big difference between the two Naz. Transcender produce amongst other things, exam simulation packages for most MCP's and plenty of other exams also. They have a very good reputation for producing good quality questions that really test yuur knowledge. Personally speaking, I wouldn't go into any exam without having done 3 or 4 exam experience tests on Transcender before hand. I find them a great way to focus your studies on areas you are weak on.

Tesking on the other hand are barely worth mentioning given the reputation they have. They are braindumps and supposedly contain the actual questions you will get on the exam. There can be quite severe concequences if it's found out that you used them to cheat, which is what it boils down too. If you do a search for braindumps on the site you will see plenty of threads on this very subject. But to summarise ...

Transender ... GOOOOOD, Tesking ... BAAAADD! (and not bad in the 'street' sense :) )

    :)
