Hot water bottle on the Dashboard. leave it overnight...............well that was according to something I ehard on the radio this morning.

Another idea was on same radio station was, If you have a drive, park your car as close as you can to the house. The heat from the house will apaprently keep the frost of the window

Sod it, park it in the House on the rug next to the fire:)

Cover the windows in lots of clingfilm. Then you can peel them off when needed (like they have for motorcycle racers).

I live in a 300 year old house. Lots of sandstone and lime and the loft is insulated and that about it.

I went out and bought a few of those halogen heaters to heat the pipes during the night so they dont freeze and I have some portable gas heaters.

We do have 4 electric heaters and some storage heaters (the ones with bricks in them) but they are crap and expensive to run.

We have a 12ft bay window and thats been covered in ice on the inside and outside for 3 weeks now, it was -12 at mine last night I even had to wear some thermal socks in bed :D

oh yeah the driving is amazing!

used the magic wand over a mini roundabout on Saturday night, the resulting slide lasted a little longer than I anticipated. Cue the worlds first rear-wheel steered Alfa 156. I could have cried esp as I had done 100 miles that day without so much as a cough.

    Dickhead Dickhead Dickhead!

our house is 100 years off GLB's and the heating and water are oil fired (hoping for a new delivery very soon indeed), we have a few convection heaters dotted around the house all timed to come on and off appropriately that seems to compliment the household heating rather well. You might want to think about the blackout curtain backing as well to help stop the cold raidiating too much into your rooms.

I'm not too worried about the car, the problem we have is the further up the drive it is the further you have to dig it out again.
