Windows XP wont boot

    I had a similar issue with Dell GX755 desktops as they suddenly changed the SATA hardware on them - anyway XP would not load as it could not recognise the controller. It was asking for a floppy blah blah...but we don't have floppies for these things! Also we couldn't use an IDE floppy as the connector is a different type on the dell mobo!!

    Solution:

    * Go into BIOS and change the mode (AHCPI) to legacy SATA

    or

    * Go to the Dell site and download the TEXTMODE SATA driver and slipstream it using nlite into the XP install disk.

    We used the latter as a soulution and all is fine now!
