This is the transcript of an actual radio conversation between a U.S. Naval Ship and the Canadian Authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in October 1999. (Released by the Chief Of Naval Operations - U.S. Navy):

    AMERICANS:

Please divert your course 15 degrees to the North to avoid collision

    CANADIANS:

Recommend you divert your course by 15 degrees South to avoid a collision.

    AMERICANS:

This is the Captain of a U.S. Navy Ship - I say again divert YOUR course.

    CANADIANS:

No, I say again, you divert YOUR course.

    AMERICANS:

This is the aircraft carrier U.S. Lincoln, the second largest ship in the U.S. Atlantic Fleet. 3 fully armed destroyers, 3 cruisers and numerous support vessels currently accompany us. I again demand that you change your course by 15 degrees North, that’s one five degrees North, or counter-measures will be taken to ensure the safety of this ship.

    CANADIANS:

This is a fxxking lighthouse……………..it’s your call!

Mind you, the fire power of the USS Lincoln could probably wipe a lighthouse off the map,

there that's better, calmed me down a bit.
