Actually, my lower half can set off a metal detector. However it is in my leg not my arse from a hip replacement I had to have when I was 35. I have a card I have to carry with me at all times just for that reason.

 

Ahh a metal hip... I wondered what the squeak was, though the forums had mice... I'll go get the can of 3 in 1 for ya Mitzs.

To be honest thats probably why you felt a tingle from the laptop, metal shortin on metal..... (as an aside i have ta say glad your ok. HAd plenty of 240v shocks in my time as a spark so know how it feels)

 

Actually, the missus had hip replacement surgery about a year and a half ago. She has to carry that card around so when she tries to get through airport security to board a flight, they know it's her hip and not a bomb.

I kind of wonder about this kind of surgery. A friend of ours just had her hip replaced a few weeks ago and someone I work with is having it done next Tuesday. It used to be only very old people needed hip replacements but these are all middle-aged women.
