To be honest guys, i found the MS press 70-270 book lacking in detail for the exam. It only skims the surface on some topics such as group policy and IIS to name a few.

The Transcenders are good and also found the MS Press XP Inside out 2nd edition very handy.
Also use Technet and lots of hands on with the OS.

You get anywhere from 45 - 60 questions and 135 minutes for the exam.

Currently on Chapter 7 of the Sybex Book

I have been working with XP for about 3 years now so should know it pretty well but then sometimes with work you only learn what you need to know to complete the task in hand

Learning it the Microsoft way is another thing

    Zimbo,

I aim to get to MCSE, eventually :D

Is the MS book you have ISBN 0735614296? This is the one i have. A lot of people have said there is lots of stuff missing, and not to rely on it by itself. :blink

I am using the same book as you Zimbo and find it rather worrying/odd that the Microsoft Press book recommended on the Microsoft MCSA home page is considered to be lacking in many areas!

Zimbo- It looks like you have the modded version then. I can only speak for my version which going by reviews there is a lot that could have been expanded on! :(

The book i had was the same as Boyce - ver ISBN 0735614296.
Seems like thats the first edition. The 2nd edition is probably better.
