    Hello guys and girls,

    I'm having a bit of a problem. I'm purchasing a laptop and I can't make my mind up about the type of CPU to choose from two choices which are;

    1-/ Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor ULV SU7300 (1.3GHz, 800MHz, 3MB) UMA GFX

    2-/ Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor ULV SU7300 (1.3GHz, 800MHz, 3MB) DISC GFX

What is the difference between the two, I mean UMA and DISC GFX?

    Thanks to everybody.

The UMA GFX stands for Unified Memory Architecture.

The computer that has graphics chips built into the motherboard that uses part of the main memory for video memory is said to have UMA graphics.

The DISC GFX means it has dedicated graphics, like Nvidia/ATI etc.

Mate, I have goggled it believe me, it's my first ever choice and the this forum comes second.
I would not waist any of anyone’s precious time doing something for me.
If I wanted people to Google then I would have mentioned it in my post.

I have come across that site and if we'd read it carefully we'd see it is not what I am looking for.

Reason for this question is that it is a new laptop DELL as out now, and it's just confusing about the CPU choice for the same money and by the way, DELL recommends the DISC GFX, whatever the difference is.

When I placed the post here I was looking for someone which would know what the difference is.

Sense this was posted I have been on Google and nothing like this but similar.

    Cheers guys,

If you look on this page, the ones with Disc GFX all have 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD4330
Specifications - Video Card. Whereas the UMA ones just have the (Built-in) Intel Graphics Media Accelerator .

Well mate, the one I was looking at did not mentioned anything about it so, I did my whole selection with the first option and keeping the 4 cell battery, at the end it given me the total price, then I went onto the CPU choice again and changed to the second and that when it came up with an error about the 4-cell battery was incompatible with the VGA, when I went to the VGA option, which there was none at first now I had an NVIDIA 512MB.
Thanks for your time mate, really appreciated, and everybody's also.
