    Hello everyone,

I am currently doing research on the limited amounts of CCIE network architects within the UK. Does anyone know how I can contact people with this qualification? It's for my thesis and I am worrying I picked the wrong topic.

    Cheers,

    Suzy. :D

Welcome to CF, glad you found us :)

I would have a hunt around the forums, some people display their certs. Failing that you could even contact Cisco....

I met a few potentials during my CCIE courses, not sure if anyone went through and finished though, I will ask around

rarity? theres a rarity in most places, top of the ladder and all :)

last figures I had were about 10'000 CCIEs world wide
    half of those stateside
half of those in Silicon Valley region

    under 1000 in europe
    80 in the UK

these figures are years old though :)
like i said, ill ask around

    Hi,

Thank you for the replies. I have tried Cisco but they are not willing to give me that info. I will keep at it.

    Hi Suzy

I suspect that the Data Protection Act has come into play here. As you are looking to do this work for your PhD have you thought of contacting them again and explaining this they may be a little more helpfull. The following may help

    1. An advert in Computer Weekly
    2. Ask the British Computer Society if they can post a notice in there closed forums.
    Good Luck on your search.

get a CCNA, if you want some way 'in' to the CCIE community (if such a thing exists).

I'm not speaking for any CCIEs but if you're looking for a way in I'd learn the technology.
