I too am a lurker, but I will be making more of an appearance in the Cisco forums as I am taking my CCNA soon...

Testking = Dump. Dump = BAD. Ergo, Testking = BAD

Good luck with that CCNA Trogdor! Be very wary of the "no ip routing" command :)

I'm usually still around, although it's been very silent lately...

Thanks for the tip Simonvm. I noticed your other post on this. Sometimes difficult to spot the small detail seemingly buried in a wall of text. I guess it will get easier with experience. Ah well, back to Packet Tracer I go...

Wouldn't classify myself particularly as a regular but I have just been lurking on and off of late. The sunshine is starting to come out and pretty busy at work, an observation rather than a complaint for me would be that whenever I log on it seems the posts are limited largely to:

    Hi
    hi
    hi
    hi
    hi
Got an A+ what do I do now?
    hi
    new here
How do I earn 250k a year in IT?

Again; I could help of course by adding my own amazing threads so i'm not criticizing as such. I think there could maybe be more community oriented threads by mods/admin though other than "Cert forum meet ups".

Maybe a weekly guide on how to do something quirky or interesting? Just throwing random thoughts out. Anyhoo back to work!

Is the 'like' thing such a good idea? I've seen some major contributors with thousands of posts but have very few likes - the number of 'likes' does not reflect how much somebody contributes, and may be off-putting - you'll be left with only the lowest common denominator.

Get rid of the 'likes' feature, so people say what they really think, instead of trying to be popular.

Similarly blog writers often look to how many comments they get, but the best quality posts may get few comments. Popularity doesn't always mean quality.

This was debated a while back.
You can 'like' a post because it's funny, helpful, topical - whatever.
If, however, you find a member particularly wise and helpful, you can add to their reputation.

    Best of both worlds! :biggrin

I guess I'm not wise, funny, helpful, topical then - no matter I don't care ;-)

How about TPB getting blocked by the courts - isn't that topical? Surely a collosal infringement of internet freedom - especially when so many deeply offensive sites are still allowed.

Also there's too much information - like who are last visitors to your home page - we don't need that level of scrutiny and tracking - its creepy !
