where can i download mandrake?

    right decided to take the plunge with linux. where can i download mandrake, as this is the distro i have decided to start with

    anything lend you to that perticular distro?

    try linuxisos.org (might be linuxiso.org without the s, but i forget)

    just seems widely regarded as a good starter distro, user friendly interface etc.

    i am completely open minded though, ill download any distro that you think would be suitable for me

    Well, if you are talking about the three install disks, yes. Of course that includes all the bells and whistles for just about any service you will ever need. Hope you have a high speed internet connection and a little time.

    i have a 1mb bandwisth but a download limit of 2 gig!

    You can download a "minimal" version of Debian from here:

    http://www.debian.org/CD/

    It's about 110 MB. During the install, if your machine has an internet connection, it will reach out to the internet to get the rest of the files it needs. Don't know if that'll help or not but at least you won't have to download and burn 2 GB of data at once.
