    Title: Network / Server Engineer
    Same job for ages
    Last week I...
Got very bored finishing a software and licensing audit. Also started some server consolidation to free up more licences for future projects and continued to research a replacement VM product to replace our current Dev/QA solution that is being retired in a year or so. Oh and added to the boredom by manually making registry changes to 25 servers to solve a small windows 2003 server issue.

I also sold my house and had a great phone interview and confirmation I'm still in the hunt for a job I interviewed for in Jan.

Not a bad week really :).

    Studied for the 70-293 exam
had my annual appraisal which went very well
sat in the office for 140 hours waiting for the phone to ring to do some work........... the most obvious reason why I want a new job!

Plenty of scripting this week Vbscript, VBA and had to refresh myself on JavaScript to program PaerCut for our purposes.
Had to teach ISA a non standard SSL port as well as alter a few firewall rules.
Setup up a Debian LAMP server to test Joomla and Wordpress
Tweaked a few of our Procurve Switches configs
Sorted out college courses for our apprentices.
Tried but failed to fix a projector.
Took another look at my proposals for the new budget. Lots of upgrade vs replacement stuff going on and made some reports to give me any information I need.
Ran off a lot of data from our MIS System.
Tried and failed to fix the phone system. New part required.
Lots of the usual printer jamming nonsense.
Ran a few training sessions for our apprentices.
Updated one of our install images.
.... And that's what I can remember, there will have been more.

I have been here a long time because they pay is okay, I'm home by 4:15 and my journey is 15 mins. I could go elsewhere but that would mean moving and I like living near the countryside :-) . I don't want to be adding 2 to 3 hours to my day commuting so .....
