    I've just read another thread about NITLC Vs Computeach.

    I notice one of the CF members has been banned and yet they can still post a reply?

    What Gives Gav? :huh

    What's the point of banning the members if they can still access the forum?

    you mean kes123? please note that it took place in 2005. anyway, when you're banned the banned status will appear with each previous post. during the first post in that thread he/she was not banned yet.

    Thanks d-faktor. Can I ask why they were banned?

    What's the difference between CF Members and Banned members profiles?

    i'm not privy to that information. but usually a continuous breach of the terms of use will do the trick.

    without sounding too obvious, i think there is not much difference. one is active, the other was active, but has been deactivated. :rolleyes:

    Well if they have been deactive then why can they still post?

    but that's because he was banned later than his second post. the banned status is profile dependent, not post dependent.

    let me rephrase.

    it's now june 2006, and let's say you are banned today. that means that your profile will be marked with the banned status, and this will be shown in all your previous posts. (just like yours now reads valued member.)

    so then someone reads a post of yours that was created in april 2006, which will include the banned status in the profile, and then reads another post of yours that was created in may 2006, which will also include the banned status in the profile. is that the basis on which to conclude that you are actually still able to post now, in june 2006?

    Monkey,

    d-Faktor is correct, this is how all forums work, it changes your status for every post you've ever made, not very good as it can cause confusion like it did with yourself.
