is the main Linux distribution used in businesses today? Would it be Redhat, Suse, Debian, Ubuntu, etc...

I am looking to learn something new, something I never really used before, to get a feel for it and I was wondering what Linux distributions do businesses use these days? I see a lot of places ask for Linux administration experience, etc... so that would be my next step after my MCSA... Kind of want to get away from MS world for a little bit...

To be honest, I've seen a little bit of everything... no standard distro that everyone's using. Many techies seem to have taken a liking to Ubuntu... but that usually ends up on their personal boxen.

Over this side we're looking mostly at SuSE and Redhat.

Download a couple of distros and play around with them. See which one you like better. there is a lot of similarity underneath them all so whatever you learn on one distro is not wasted on the moving to the next.

On the other hand many hosting companies use CentOS for web servers.

From my understanding the linux commands them selves are very similar to being the same on many different distro right?
