I wear cords and chinos now. I do not own a single pair of jeans. I rock.

If he said he wants a chat, then he wants a chat- i think if he wanted to see ur certs/quals he would have asked.. plus he already has your CV?

The only person I know who wears cors is the guy who looks like Nelix from star trek who comes to service the plate processors were I work and he is not fashionable.

Having interviewed people for this type of position I would expect :

Smart casual or a suit (no jeans)

Take a copy of your CV with you to refer to if needed

Take a folder with the rest of your certs/exam certificates etc - you never know

Arrive 10 mins early

be prepared to state your case for working for them and highlight your skills and experience

Speaking as the owner of a computer shop, I'd be fine with casual slacks and a dress shirt, tie optional. I need to know that you clean up well enough not to scare the customers. That being said, I wouldn't expect you to wear a suit and tie to the store on a daily basis.

I wear casual slacks and polo shirts with my company name embroidered on them each day at work. It's a rare day when I don't come home with dust and spiderwebs on my clothing from blowing crap out of people's machines, so I wouldn't ask anyone else to expose expensive dress clothes to that.

I went to the meeting, and I got a placement for work experience, for however long I like as its basically a win-win situation; I get the experience I need, they get extra help.

I've just been mainly refurbishing PC's e.g. testing, installing windows and hardware etc. They're also training me which is pretty damn nice of then in such things as ghosting, laptop repairs, pc health checks etc.

 

Well done m8 and good luck ! Pick up as much info as you can while you're there and maybe keep a day book (diary) of what you've done - useful for later when you need to look back and prepare a CV
