I'm trying to understand exactly what is carpet bombing? In terms of web browser security and how is it different from say a drive-by download?

Edit: As I understand it at the moment, a vulnerability is exploited in the browser to download a file and try and trick the user into double clicking on the executable file??

In Military terms:- The phrase carpet bombing refers to the use of large numbers of unguided gravity bombs, often with a high proportion of incendiary bombs, to attempt the complete destruction of a target region, either to destroy personnel and materiel, or as a means of demoralizing the enemy.

In pooter terms - It's effectively a flaw which allows multiple files to be downloaded to a user's PC. You could say in a bombardment. :p

    Nuff said. :)
