I am still studying for the 220-702, I have passed the 220-701 already.

What happens when the 220-80# series comes out? ... will this make my 220-70# series defunct if I haven't passed the 220-702 before it goes live or is there a period when 801/802 go live that I can still take the 702 exam?

If not, then can I pass the 220-701 and the 220-802 to be A+ Certified or would I need to start from fresh?

Just another added stress on top

There's normally an overlap of approx 6-9 months so no need to worry yet.
You can't complete your A+ by passing exams from different series, you would have to pass the 702 or do both 800 exams. You should have until the end of the year at least if I recall correctly and, since you've passed the 701, I can only assume you're planning on taking the 702 soon.
