    Hi

I'm new to this forum after being given the address by an NITLC sales rep! I'm looking at doing some kind of course aimed at MCSE, but it's a nightmare trying to decide on a course provider or even, after reading some of the threads, buying the books and self-teaching. At the moment I'm looking at Computeach, NITLC and AffordableTraining.

I've been looking at a lot of threads on this forum about the qualities of different learning providers, and they keep talking about CBT. Can anyone tell me what CBT stands for?

    Cheers.

    Computer Based Training.

Training or instruction where a computer program provides motivation and feedback in place on a live instructor. CBT can be delivered via CD-ROM, LAN or Internet. Creation is done by teams of people including instructional designers, and often has high development costs. http://www.directdegree.com/s/DistanceEducationGlossary.shtml

Greetings from the land downunder sack, I am sure you will find all the help and encouragement you need to complete your quest for certification.

What is your experience btw? The MCSE is not designed for beginners into IT. If you are relatively new to networking you will find it a hard struggle to get there. A lot of people drop out after paying up front. You would be better off IMHO going for entry level certs first like the A+ then N+. I had seven years experience with networking but still wish I had done these two certs first as they give you a solid foundation on which you can build your knowledge.

Moominboy. I'm sure your penguin is giving me a funny look, sort of "go ahead punk..". Please inform him that I've a copy of FC4 that I intend to use as soon as I get the chance, no need for menaces :D

@ the penguin, no need to bear arms dude, I fully support the 'adopt a penguin' philosophy... here have a fish. :)
