I think it's a useful resource to give you an introduction to various technologies, presented in a professional manner rather than hunting down videos on YouTube, but I don't think anything on there is an extensive covering of a subject, as like you say it is free.
I used it watching a series of introduction to Powershell videos to get me started on...Powershell, funnily enough

 

Yeah was using it for the MTA Networking fundamentals but dont find it very useful.. using pluralsight instead as have 90 day free subscription.
