Yup, you will just have to see what happens though. A job might come up around the £16k mark (its possible) so it wouldn’t be *too* much of a financial hit. 8)

I hope my first IT job is about that or more I don't think I could afford to go below that and be in my own place not the way bills are in this country.

I totally understand, if it is below the 16k mark, and do decide, you would defo need to work out your finances big time!
Remember everyone starts from someone, it may be hard for the 1st year, but once you've got your all important experience then, and of course knowledge, it will get better, as you should be able to progress within your company (if poss) /or when you start looking else where...

Good luck in whatever you decide mate!

Cheers mate, I have no doubt that I'll progress in IT but its getting that first chance to show what I can do its like banging your head against a brickwall.

I am prepared to take upto a 3k pay cut I doubt I could go any further.

...and when you get your foot in the door, the banging your head against a brickwall will continue - thanks to some of the end users out there!

I would love to say that to someone, hee hee!

Unfortunately if you are not the in-house IT guy at the company then you have to be nice to all users, even if they have downloaded spyware, again!

If it wasn't for users doing stupid things on PC's then half of us wouldn't have jobs. :)

I'm starting a keep users dumb campaign. \o/
