I'll start this off with the Main Players, but any other suggestions will be added to the Poll.

Personally, I have never been let down by Grisoft AVG6 - updates constantly, and never once been caught out. Oh, and its FREE :D

PC-cillin I think it's called, on my computer

On my laptop I use an online virus scanner, which can be found here

    And it's free :!:

    Thanks :!:

Edit: Just realised that aint an anti-virus, but rather a virus scanner.I'll check out AVG, cheers.

None please do not use a computer ever again?
I didnt have a Virus checker for about 6 years and didnt get so much as a computer cold let alone a worm or trojan, it's not about your anti virus software (no worms and such are released before there are blocks for them) its about the likely hood of you not realising you just executed one on you system

I Use Norton Anti Virus Corporate Edition now across my network, as I have public upload areas on my FTP and dont like to get caught out

Woops - there goes me shooting off my opinions again

@Phoenix - apologies if I've caused offence by the last option - I don't doubt that until recently, one would be fairly safe to run without any AV. Just that these days, especially as there is more Press / Media coverage to be gained by launching a successful virus, then I would suggets it is increasingly unwise to go online without up to date protection

However, I'll alter the options accordingly

EDIT Due to me making a complete @rse of editing the Poll options, could you all vote again, please ?

    No arse made
i was just pointing out thats its that virus checkers can rarely combat a new worm until a patch has been released, the problem is uneducated users or a simple mistake by those who are fortunate enough to be computer literate

a virus checker can only help combat alredy existing virus', the media ofcourse doesnt help a thing with its usual inaccurate reports of what a virus does/can do etc, educating users would be more useful :)

it takes an educated user not to be infected, not a well protected machine
remember, even the most protected of machines can still have harm done to it by its administrator
