So, my work has paid off eventually, i have landed my first proper IT role.

Just want to say thank you to everyone on here who helped me and advised me when i was applying.

Oh yeah, theres also another role ill find out about tomorrow as well, strange feeling to be in this position.

At the mo, i need to read up on stuff, and get work wear sorted out. Smart but casual i think would be good

Very reassuring and inspiring to know you were able to do this at 37 when I feel my age of 27 is going to be an uphill battle.

How long have you been trying/studying/etc to get this role, sir?

Thanks guys, all the advice along the way did help.

As for studying siberian, i went to uni in 2006, finished in 2011, then got work exp at a high school and the uni i went to, and i was lucky that a mate of mine needed IT help for a while so i could put that down on the CV etc. As for you being 27, your still classed as a young pup so to speak, companies will want young people always, i suppose im lucky that we live in an era where age discrimination is not allowed. It has been a bit of a battle to get this job, so im going to take the chance and hopefully do myself proud, and finally start progressing.

As for studying, i fix peoples laptops and pcs for them or ill look at comptia A+ and Network + vids, and also keep upto date with current trends.

I know where ill; be working where on about BYOD, which can be a good thing but i have my reservations about, and they are looking to update current stock which is a good thing, means plenty of work and plenty of exp, which at the end of the day is key.

Just keep plugging away and im sure youll get to where you want to be, you can always ask me or anyone in here

Thanks for the reply, mate. Really pleased for you, because you've clearly worked hard and deserve it.
