Great idea. Unfortunately, it has about as much chance of succeeding as Charlton Athletic have of winning the Champions League. This season.

95% of all 'nefarious' advertising on the web originates from places like Russia, the Ukraine, Thailand, Indonesia and Lithuania. Those places wouldn't give international law enforcement agencies the IP addresses of people who were planning to blow up half the rest of the world, let alone bother themselves signing up to treaties that enabled people to opt-out of internet advertising.

File that one under 'well intentioned, but not thought out' I think.

But if I want to buy something I'll look for it.

I don't want it shoved in my face.
