Problem Vmware & Clustering

    It's an iSCSI Target software (I believe it runs on a Windows system) much like Datacore SanMelody does

    the NFR key you get for free if your an MCP or VCP, when i got my invite they asked for my VCP ID or MCP transcript

    you would install this on a Windows box

    then have your VMWare boxes connect to it (to the same LUNs, for clustered file system)

    you could also test MS clusters with it too!

    heres how Intel pulled off 1 million IOPS using Windows 2008 R2 (software initiator) and StarWinds (software Target)

    Yup, I did this last week to practice some of the high availbility features of Server 2008 R2 with Hyper-V. I setup 3 physical servers (two clustered Hyper-V hosts and a server that became the iSCSI target using Starwind).

    It was fairly straight forward, especially setting up Starwind. Worked quite well once I had ironed out a few issues but wasn't a particularly fast solution, more just for testing really.
