    Generally no. Educational editions are usually empty boxes with a postcard you enter your educational details on, and send away. They then send you the discs (although they often dont, they can verify that you belong to that establishment).

    What do you want to achieve?

    If you are just learning it then just get the express editions http://www.microsoft.com/Express/

    They have lots of the good functionality. Some things are missing such as the unit testing ect but you can get round all those things with a little clever coding.
