I recently noticed a virus on my computer called w32/spybot.worm.gen.au . now i can run a scan and clean some of the files and ill have to quarrantine the others and then delete them. Ive turned off system restore and ill run the scan and they keep coming back. They are all from a program called ms update all i can think of related to that is MSN messenger.

At first there were 3 infected files and now there are 5 even tho im doing shutdowns and restarts and making sure my system restore is off. Does anyone have any ideas about this or has anyone come across this little worm. ???

Good link, hopefully you can get rid of that.

I recently had to nuke a machine because of "abetterinternet blah blah" piece of spyware.

Looking around the only fix was messing with HKEYS_CLASSES_ROOT which i didn't want to do!

I backed up all data and wiped the thing!
