you dont have to be a techie if you read the manual so if they cant be bothered then they have only them selves to blame !!!

i was watching a tv program once where they sat outside some guys house watching everything he did and they could see where and when he'd booked his holiday so they knew exactly when he was going to be away. they then went and knocked on his door and showed all the print outs they had made. he looked pretty shocked at which point i turned over.

that was the real hussle and IIRC his network was WEP secured and was done to prove a point.

yeah that was it, thats because WEP takes minutes to crack but atleast it takes knowledge to do it and most wardrivers wouldnt bother.

WPA-PSK on the other hand, if a long enough key is used it could a long time to crack

almost any idiot can download a copy of linux aircrack and airoscript and run them. I dont agree with the person who wrote the perl script to automate wep cracking. that means any skiddy and his sister can crack wep.

WPA is cracked in a fasion. when i say in a fasion i mean someone has wrote a program to throw a dictionary at it.

the only way of making WIF as secure as a wired network is way beyond any home user and not necacerry as soon as you tun on wpa wardrivers look and move on.
but within my knowledge the only way to make wifi secure is with and radius server, i dont know the details on how they work but i know essentially they change the PSK every few minuets ( im not expert)
