Having procrastinated enough I decided to book my VCP exam for this coming Friday, I have been studying on and off for this exam for months and as I have a discount voucher that expires next week I decided to book the exam on the off chance that I could actually pass it. Work has been very hectic recently (my team have lost 3 engineers due to resignations over the last month, this from a team of 7 and the work isn't lessening) and we don't use VMware products here (Hyper-V and Xen) but with my home lab and previous study I am hoping that this will be enough.

I have two days to brush up on quirky subject matter (look at my blog for the study material I have been using to date) and a 5 hour daily commute to ensure I spend enough time doing so but hopefully by 5pm on Friday evening I should know whether I passed or not.

Good luck indeed, although I'm sure you wont need it. Hell of a day to take it though, most of the UK's workforce will be either not working or getting sneakily oiled up at their desks, you'll be the only one in the land doing anything productive!!

Good luck dude as am sure you'd pass. Just out of curiosity how comes three engineers resigned in a space of a month. I take it they were not happy or sour grapes or maybe something else?

Well note to self, allow more revision time when taking the VCP 5 exam. 2 days is not a lot when you haven't touched it for 3 months.

Anyway I just scraped a pass so that's all that really matters. Just need to try and find the time to study for VCP 5 before February otherwise I will have to do another course.

Congrats mate, mine is booked for Feb (VCP4).

If you don't get enough time to sit your VCP5, there's a "what's new" 2 day course that course that will allow you to sit it at a later date now you're a VCP4
