Hi all. I am brand new and just found your site today. I am a CCNA, MCSA 2000, A+, Server+ and Net+ and I have worked in various IT capacities.

I am now working on my MOS 2003 certification and am hoping to take the Word Expert test next week.

My question relates to the use of the Microsoft MOS logo on business cards and resumes. I read somewhere that it is forbidden to put these logos on your documents. Is that true? You can put MCSA/MCSE/CCNA/A+ etc all over your resume if you want to...I find it strange that putting your MOS achievement on a cover letter or resume would be forbidden. Anybody got any info on this?

Is it just me or is that kind of stupid? Why would MS not allow you to use the MOS logo when they allow you to use the MCSE logo? I suppose the discussion isn't really worth having, since it won't change anything, but I think it is lame on Microsoft's part. Can anyone give me a good reason that justifies this policy?

 

It's probably all down to the design department. The MCP certification department probably approached them to design a logo to be used by those qualified. The Office side may have just approached them for a logo to represent their exams (subtle difference!). Then copyright and trademark issues will have kicked in...

And yes, it is a little silly especially as you can walk around with the logo on a t-shirt or baseball cap, etc and not even be qualified!
