    Hi

I am currenlty at a site with a windows server 2003 SP1 server.
I need to change some GPOs which requires a newer set of ADM's

Because the server is in use i cant install SP2 (which would solve the issue aswell) until next week.

I would like to use 2003admsetup.exe to update the ADMs so i can continue with prepwork
however, i dont know if this this tool will force/require a server reboot.

    Does anyone know ?

Didnt need it in the end, i installed the admin toolkit pack on a XP client updated the ADM's through that.
I also applied patch KB842933 (string truncated error) to the server as they like to view settings through GPMC on the box.

Hopefully i can install service packs next week when i can get some downtime.

I wanted to change some GPOs for XP SP2 clients and the options were missing, looked at the server and its original 2003 standard no updates or services packs :blink cant reboot server to install a service pack, going to have to go back one evening.

Having lots of trouble this site has been neglected

    Don't worry mate.

    It's a skill I've got.
    A sort of Midas touch.

People phone me up shouting that their computer isn't working or whatever.
So I give a big sigh, put down my coffee/lunch and trudge to the other end of the building.

As I walk in they say 'oh, it seems to be fine now'.

So just telling me about your problems fixes them... :biggrin

Lol... its like dot cotton from EastEnders at the moment :-x

I have only been there for 4 days, i am still building a list :x

Just trying to patch up what i can whilst i audit everything and present my shopping list to the manager

A manager has been looking after it since 2005 i think i may be the first IT person to look at it since it was originally setup.

    I'll get there :D

The client has probably been jumping cartwheels since 2005 as their IT budget is so reduced from earlier years.... wait until you present them with this bill!
