Just got two DL580 G7s in to replace a couple of old DL towers I had. You want cores? I got cores...

Just need to figure out how I'm going to run them in my basement without a rack, and with four 1200x PSUs in each... oh, and tell the wife why our electricity bill has doubled :)

    Ha!

    Funny you should say that...

I'm looking into starting up a colo next year - just small to begin with. See if I can get a few SME clients I used to do support for interested in some cheap-as-chips DR. If I can kick that off and grow the customer base, I might look into partnering with someone to get a real facility up and running somewhere. Colos are only going to get bigger in the next few years - I think if I can get in small and work up, I might have enough of a client base in a few years to do it full time.

As for heat and noise - yeah, they're absolute beasts for both. More worryingly, with both those on, I'm pretty much at capacity on my power draw down here in the lab.
