    Hi All,

Just out of interest. Once you are a MCSE 2K3, how many exams is it to upgrade to the MCITP: EA? And by passing just 70-649 do you gain 3 MCTS's?

    Thanks

    Jim

PS I've checked the Microsoft site but I think I'm confused ha ha doesn't take much

Yes, I believe you gain 3 MCTS certifications with 70-649.

You need 2 exams (which cover the content of 4 exams) to upgrade your MCSE to the MCITP: EA: 70-649 and 70-647. Alternatively, you can pass the 4 exams individually: 70-640, 70-642, 70-643, and 70-647.

lol, the 70-649 is actually 3 exams in one. And you will be graded separately per part, if you fail one part you fail the whole exam. The final score of the whole exam is the lowest score of the 3 parts.

The 70-647 is the only exam which is one exam.

Do you not need 70-620 as well if you dont already have it?

Ah, yes, you are correct. I always forget that... mostly because it makes absolutely NO sense to me why an Enterprise Administrator would need to know how to support a desktop OS and a Server Administrator would not (70-620 is NOT required for the MCITP:SA)! :blink My mind absolutely boggles at some (okay, MOST) of the decisions made by Microsoft Learning.

On completion of the 70-649 exam you do get 3 MCTS's (MCTS AD Config, MCTS Application Infra Config and MCTS Network Infra config)

For me getting to the MCTIP: EA is 2 exams, 70-620 Vista Config (passed on friday :biggrin) and 70-647 (now working on)

    Hope this helps.
