Has anyone taken the upgrade exam for MCSA Windows Server 2016 (70-743)?

Can't find a lot of info about this exam yet, but is it like other upgrade exam whereas its basically 3 exams in 1 and you have to score 700 on each section to pass the whole thing. So is it basically 70-740, 741 & 742 taken at the same time?

So rather than looking for 70-743 study guides & nuggets, I'd be able to just focus on 70-740,741 & 742 Nuggets instead.

    Thanks in advance

As far as I'm aware the 70-743 is not the same format as the 70-417. It's just one exam that you have to score 700 on. I'm personally going to wait until the OS is updated to R2, as I don't think there's much in the way of available prep materials for this exam yet.

Have you done 70-417 by the way? I'm preparing for it now, and dreading the format a bit.

    I hope you're right about the 70-743

Yes I did do the 70-417 about 7 months ago, its the hardest MS exam I've ever done (I have done quite a few)

I failed it twice, the first time I scored something like 850/750/650, then the 2nd attempt I passed the 3rd section but failed the 2nd, its so frustrating. The 3rd attempt that I passed, I actually scored 700/700/700, so lucky! A pass is a pass hey :)

    Good luck with the 70-417

Oh God, see I keep getting very polarised reviews on this exam. Some people have said it's the hardest they've ever done due to the format. But I've actually seen a few people saying it's the easiest they've ever done, due to the exam questions sticking very closely to the objectives, and the MS Press book giving away many dubiously close exam tips. I guess I'll see when I sit it. I wish MS were still offering the booster pack deal. It'd really help take the pressure off.

Thanks btw, and good luck with 743.

That bad? I thought the upgrade from Server 2003 MCSE to Server 2008:EA was ok. I am looking at doing the 70-417 - need to get my MS certs upgraded when I can find the time.

I do recall the upgrade from 2003 to 2008 wasn't all that tough.

FYI you can upgrade directly from 2008 to 2016, so given you haven't done the 70-417 yet you could just do the 70-437 instead

Its just tough because its actually 3 exams in 1 sitting, think trying to pass 3 exams in the 1 day with no break in between each. All 3 exams are similar and cover the same themes, but the issue for me was 1 slip up and you fail all 3

Is that right? I was hoping i'd be able to take one exam at a time? Then study for the next?
Also once again Sybex is annoying me, setting up DHCP superscopes and it tells me to setup a scope which would overwrite the IP's of the scope i just created! Which i can't do, so had to delete the one i had done to then re-create!

Not that impressed and losing confidence with the quality of this book......am i the only one? It's hard enough to learn and they're not making it any easier
