I prefer pluralsight, edx and coursera.

    My experiences :-

pluralsight - High quality specialist content on development, more of a professional short course format with examples. Good charging model, plenty high quality content.
edx - High quality content, in depth courses from top universities, closer to a university experience. Longer courses. Free to evaluate some courses, try before you buy.
coursera - Variable quality but a nice mix of internet vs traditional education, more of an open platform. Seems largely paid platform now, some audit still possible.

Udemy - Highly variable content, I like the fact that its an open platform, but generally its not worth my time to find the quality.
Lynda - Nice company but again, seems to be slightly behind the curve on the subjects I care about most.

Udacity - I'd like to give this one a go, but the charging model and long course structure makes it a poor fit with my work commitments.

Other CBT worth a mention :-

    CodeSchool
    CBTNuggets
    Egghead
    FrontendMasters
    InfinteSkills
    LearnVisualStudio.NET
    LiveLessons
    OReilly
    TutsPlus
    Codecademy
    Datacamp

TheOpenUniversity - Not an online platform, but distance learning with a support tutor, and tutorials groups, good if you want to learn things like maths or physics.

Also some universities run short courses or summer camps for professionals, and can be a good option if a bit more expensive.

All my study is now non certification based.

    edx - 10 courses completed
    coursera - 15 courses completed
    pluralsight - ~50 courses completed

Definetly lynda, the variety is endless and it stays updated.. I learnt alot from lynda.com, I litterally just cancelled my subscription as I must admit the specific content I needed wasnt there at the level I needed it at. Just signedup to ITDVDS so I can watch the few videos I need but will return to lynda straight after.
