Trying to get Comptia

    Hello,
    a few years ago i did Comptia 2003. I passes Software and then when i want to do the Hardware part the exams for A+ 2003 were not valid anymore.
    So i want to start again now. Does somebody know if the exams will change soon? i dont want it again!

    and can somebody advice a studybook?

    Not for a while they wont as they have just changed.

    Beaware though that you must pass both 701 and 702 before December 31st this year to be certified for life otherwise you will have to retake it every 3 years to remain certified.

    Best book is compTIA A+ all in one exam guide 7tth edition by Mike Meyers and the professermesser free videos are good too.

    Jan 2011, Exams will change with updated Windows 7 content:

    Admittedly it's not a major change, the exam numbers stay the same (220-701 and 220-702) but there is new content added.

    I'm currently running through the Sybex study guide, it's covered everything I think I'd need to brush up on (mainly printers).

    That is the book you want if you plan to certify before the end of December, another edition is likely to come out early in the new year with updated content. However that is not to say that the current guide will not get you passed, esspecially if you do as many practice exams as possible and use professor messers videos. :)
