    I am fixing a persons Laptop whos touchpad is not working. Its a Acer TravelMate 2310. They say they have not installed any software since it stopped working.

    Any Ideas What I should Do?

    First thing I'd do is plug a mouse in to make your life a bit easier.
    After that, have a quick look at the device manager to see if there are any obvious issues there.
    It's unlikely that the issue is a virus or malware but you might want to do a quick scan to be on the safe side.
    Then, take a hop over to the Acer website and download the latest driver to try. It's a bloody slow website and it also seems to not like FireFox so stick this link into explorer;

    Let us know how you get on!

    Couldn't get the dropdowns to show properly and then it was refusing to navigate through to the support section. Worked fine in IE first time. Ah well. Hope it helps, if you're feeling vindictive you could upgrade all his drivers for him :biggrin

    I hate those touchpads - they seem to never work for me. I used to carry a real mouse against the times I would otherwise be forced to use a touchpad!
