    I have two interviews tomorrow.

One of them I have been nervous/ excited about all weekend and today - it would be a big step up for me - something I started to look at heading towards a while ago, and even tailored my CV for (which came in handy as it got me shortlisted) - IT security.

Does anyone have any tips on what type of things may be asked?

I spent the whole weekend boffing up on the company and what security itself entails and models (CIA) and how the whole thing applies to my current role - OUs, GPos, Domino ACLS, Ids etc etc, what I can offer them in the new role etc etc...

....wooo - just been informed that I have a second interview from last Thursdays job too...it's all goooing on!! :biggrin :biggrin

Hey Leehaa, how are you you loner? LOL

Spent the weekend revising for that bloody security role - got a new suit too. Turned up today ready to give it my best shot, and it had been cancelled - felt like a right tool...but I hadn't heard anything from the agency :(

This mornings interview went well though - waiting to hear back on seconds, but they said I got top marks on technical test. Also, the company that brought out my company has made a proposal whereby I could work from home. Role is full time, but I worry that it won't be stimulating enough and no-one to bounce knowledge off..plus the company is located miles away, so not sure how secure it would be...will have to discuss...and have a think before anything is agreed!!

    Finally got that security interview.

The job totally sounds me. It would be in a structured environment where there are guides and rules to adhere to. The company is GREAT (already have two friends who have been there a while in other departments and love it), and the team sounds fun - it's a small team, but they have small teams for just about everything under the sun - the are HUGE compared to what i'm used to!!!

They are interviewing more people on Friday though and have already interviewed a few... I was in there nearly 1 1/2 hours so can't have done too badly, but I can't believe what a fool I was - spent the last two weekends cramming in stuff on security - all about confidentiality, integrity, Availability....stuff like BIGip, F5 networks, loads of stuff...and NONE of it came up. They were more interested in the skills that I already had - that were on my CV (funny that!!) When the guy asked me what I knew about GPOs and security and distribution lists....I just totally froze....normally I would have banged on about Forests and Trees and OUs and applying the GPOs etc etc...but I just totally froze - said a bit about that they control access to data, and can be over-ridden unless you set them as not to be...then just mumbled a bit more...then went bright red...then said that the distribution list defined mail groups that people belonged to (maybe not even that much) and that security groups determined level of access (didn't even say what access to)...this is really annoying as If they offered me the job today - even for 3k less than the asking salary, I'd drop the interviews I have on the pipeline / any offers and take it, as it would be a great opportunity.....tis always the way though!! Ah well if it's meant to be it's meant to be, but aaaaarrrgh!!

Tip: just stick to refreshing yourself on what you know - what's on your CV rather than trying to cram in any fancy Jazz!! :D

Looks like the last interview is really bothering you. Well, it couldn’t have been too bad since they’re calling you back for round-2. :)

    Best of luck…

Although I don't normally do it, if you're going to send a 'Thank You' letter, do it within 3-days. Waiting a week makes it look like an after-thought, which is not a good impression. :blink
