As it happens, I have an interview for a junior security role next week - would totally LOVE it - it's also for a much bigger company who It's tough to even get an interview with (out of 5 cvs the agency passed onto them they are only taking in 2 for interview). I am SO NERVOUS and it's a week away! Really need to impress them!!

Got another interview on Thurs for a smaller company - but not as small as ours - not sure what to expect with them but sounds like a similar role to now (but with more people on the team to bounce knowledge off) Also, a really motivating work environment - company shut down for Christmas and lots of fun little perks.

Thanks - think I need some luck at the mo...."Mr Leehaa" has found out he has to pay £800 to fix his car today. As I've just taken a week off, my redundancy pay is less than half that. :( on the plus side - at least I didn't hand in my notice, as was going to this week - then redundancy would have been Jack!!!!

First off don’t be handing in any resignation notice. You’re much more in demand / valuable while currently employed, so play that card!

Secondly, don’t be nervous at any interview. Just be relaxed but sharp. Another words, make sure you’re read up on the company and the job description. Be sure to ask questions, make them feel you want to be part of the ‘team’ not just another individual. It goes a long way if the hiring folks feel you’ll fit into their existing team.

    Best of luck to ya’.

Thanks Sunn - the situation has changed a lil bit during this post - we were told that the company will no longer be around in April, and so everyone here has been given notice (which is actually great cos being made redundant is better than resigning before you get a new job I guess)

I have that first interview this afternoon - so will just try to be my usual scatty cheerful self!

Had quite a lot of bad new of late though - as well as work, and hubby's car, some personal stuff too, so finding it quite hard to remain positive  - ah well can but try 8)

    Thank you!

Todays seemed to go ok and it lasted over an hour and, when asked how I would troubleshoot something I reeled off so much that they had to tell me that I was more than thorough enough and "lets move onto the next question" Lol!!

Again, I was asked if perhaps I am a bit too technical (Is a 1st/2nd line role), but I said that as I had been in the industry only four years - yes I know a lot - some really hardcore stuff, but I still need more experience before I could class myself above a 2nd line skillset.

They will let the agency know if I got through to second interview (which i'd definitely attend -like the company and the two guys, plust there's another girl on the team - woohoo! who would be present at the next interview)...

I think the main decider will be a question they asked "who would you have a one to one with for an hour if it could be anyone you desire"

I answered "Kermit the frog" Well he makes me laugh and I really need that at the moment! :D One guy found it really funny - seemed to get on quite well with him, but the other one was a bit vague - though he did keep having to pop out to solve a major issue that was going on....

    ...we shall see...

Have you ever won a raffle, game of chance, any lottery? I'm pretty sure you're closer than you think. As for alien contact, haven't you heard of the book 'Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus'. Even the politicians know their usefulness. So I guess wedding bells are closer than you thought. Glad I could help :biggrin
