Don't get me started on sci-fi... they cancelled Farscape...

 

I think "dave" served its purpose. Who didn't go "Huh? A TV Channel called Dave?"

Syfy does have fail written all over it. Any channel that shows star trek etc. is always going to seem geeky. . . having said that, I do tune in occasionally to watch Quantum Leap!

 

The Sci-Fi channel (at least in the UK anyway) is bollocks and always has been. When I first got it (in the mid nineties) I was expecting it to show loads of quality old sci-fi but all I've ever seen on it is utter tripe. Its probably better in the US...

 

Probably not... then again we don't get Sci-Fi in Canada so can't be sure.

 

I've pretty much given up on TV (broadcast, cable, whatever). I just buy or rent the TV show/film I want to watch and do my own programming. Much more satisfying.

 

Agreed that series rocked and would have been the best cliff hanger if they brought it back.

I expect we may see a backtrack on this one.

 

Did they even test this idea out on viewers before deciding to make the change. Aren't there more important things for these TV execs to be doing besides trying to come up with a different name for a business that doesn't need a new name?

 

It could be worse someone could accidently slip in a t and call it "Stiffy"

 

If they changed SyFy to TyFy, it's almost Tie Fighter (yeah, I know...lame).

Nah... TyFy is "Tiffy"... Tie Fighter is "Tie-Fi". ;)

 

I can live with that. At least it's a Star Wars reference.
