Starting a new job soon as ICT support. On the offer letter it mention 'Hours of work 40 hours per week' now i wonder is this 9-5 with 30 minute lunch or will be doing something like 9-5:30 to cover my lunch.

I'll get a chance to ask the employer on Monday but just curious now.

I think it will be the latter. My contract says 37.5 hours per week and is 9:00-5:00 including 30 minutes lunch.

In all my previous jobs the stated hours worked did not include lunch breaks. Your effectively off the clock during lunch.

That's the time you don't get paid for while still being at work and working (most of the time). It also includes the time when you run to the nearest shop to get something to eat while stuff is uploading/downloading/installing.

    LOL!

Yeah I don't think lunch or any other breaks count in the 40 hours.
