All my life I've taken Freedom for granted and, even with the recent attrocities, it's impossible for me to imagine the hardship endured by so many between 1939 to 1945. They gave six years of sacrifice for our sixty years of Freedom so, and I hope I'm speaking on behalf of all here at CertForums, I'd like to take the opportunity in joining the whole Nation in honouring their courage and resilience by saying a simple...

I'm ashamed I haven't posted to this before now, but thanks for starting it off, Keith. I spent an hour this morning with my 7 year old daughter, as we watched the service on TV, and explaining (as best I could) what it was for, and why we were fortunate enough to be able to watch it.

Thank goodness for those that went through both wars in order that we have our freedom today.

My dearest TNT participated with her school's marching band celebrating the 60th anniversary of VE day in Washington DC and New York several months ago.

We should never forget those that fight for our freedom no matter what country your in. It is a good fight and we need to support those that have, those that will, and those that are. God bless you all.

Robert Hardy's reading as Winston Churchill had the hairs on my arms standing on end and a tear in my eye. Moving sentiments and even more so in the present climate...
