The longest you've kept a laptop up and runing?

    My mate is greatly annoying me now, he thinks if he buys something it should last forever and if hes had something and it dies after 10 years that that particular brand is not good; I keep telling him nothing last forever. He's quite annoying really.. Anyway, moving on to the point, how long have you kept a laptop for that was fully functioning up until it broke-down or you got a new one?

    About 5 years.

    Lot laptops are pretty crap with reliability and build. Lucky to get 3 with most.

    Thinkpads and Macbooks tended to be bit better, but you paid for it.

    My Sony Vaio is still going pretty good, probably been about 4/5 years now.
