Hi all, i took the first step today and bought the Michael Meyers A+ and network+ books so its hard study from now on ! i will be teaching myself at nights and weekends working around my carpentry and joinery job, i want to work my way up to a network engineer, so if anyone willing to share advice and tips it would be greatly appreciated!

Well done on starting your journey to Comptia A+

First of all I would recommend you download/print off the A+ Objectives this will take you to thread by Zimbo which has links to the latest A+ objectives

Once you've got the Objectives I tend to read through them and re-write them as question, it gives you an idea of what to focus on!

Secondly I recommend this website for A+ Essentials 2006 Study Guide and tips

Third, get yourself a "how to study" book. Mike meyers book is concise and (very large) a lot of people including myself lose motivation when trying to study from this book due to life's distractions or boredoom of reading from such a big book!!

Have a look at the attachment for study skills (a acrobat PDF study skills 50pages long) If it does help then you can buy the book from amazon:- study skills

OK - I have I managed to cut down the size of the PDF .. see attachment for study skills

WTF it's says the max for PDF is 5MB and yet despite cutting the file size down from 5.12MB to 3.08MB I still can't upload?

After clearing out my attachments - 3rd time luckly??

I just purchased from amazon Comptia A+ all in one 6th edition from M M and PC Technician street smarts as well so I am starting my new A+ certification and could also use some pointers.
