I got you to look at this post by letting you think that the guy in the following link is a bass player, as in bass guitar, but the guy is extraordinary both in his musical talent and showmanship with a bass fiddle. He was far ahead of his time.

I have certainly never seen anything close to this. I've watched it several times because he is truly amazing.

Sorry, Sparky, but I agree with Cheeks. That's noise, not music, to me too . There is so much intentional distortion that any music produced was completely lost in the distortion.

    Fair enough.

On the album it isn’t as distorted as that but its still a cool bass solo. In comparison to what’s in the charts these days its streets ahead. :rocks

Yes he is amazing, quite a character and the music is way out there too. You just don't see anything like that anymore, which is probably a good thing :biggrin

I love the Chilli's early stuff. There last couple of albums have become a bit mainstream though.

I did enjoy that clip that Freddy posted but for the glockenspiel you can't beat Patrick Moore.:D

No bass there mate, just computers.

Good song to put on when cruising about in the car though. 8)

A thread on bass players would not be complete without Jaco Pastorious - may he rest in peace!

He is a bit out of it in this clip but it's the only one i could find.
