I have an intermittent problem with the texas instruments pci-1510 cardbus controller on my acer 1642 wlmi laptop. Sometimes the driver shows up on device manager and works briefly then will just dissapear or have a yellow ! mark by it. I think this is also causing the intel 2200bg wireless card to stop working which does exactly the same thing. I cannot find the drivers for the cardbus controller online, only on the microsoft website but i cant get online with the laptop to add them with the express install feature.

The OS is xp home 32.

The fault can also cause the BSOD occasionally.

Can the cardbus controller be replaced?

    Thanks.

Have you tried updating the chipset drivers?

If yours is an Acer Aspire the take a look here for the chipset drivers.
