I know it wasn't released in 2009 but the Playstation 3 is my favourite bit of tech from 2009. Although i've had it a couple of years, 2009 was the year I actually started using it as more than just a DVD/BluRay player:

    • Bought some games: Uncharted 2, Colin McRae Dirt, Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2
    • Config WMP to share music and video so I can play stuff from my library and downloaded content on the Playstation
    • Realised the BBC iPlayer works on it so some of that on the big TV as well :)

The 3 things I guess for me would have to be: the iPhone (as I only got my one thru work this year), Windows 7 and the Xbox 360 (I just got that for Christmas) :)

I know what you mean, my wife bought me the Wii early 2007 just after it was released - still love it. While the graphics aren't as good as the 360, the experience is ace :)

Just waiting for the Xbox 720 and the "Wii HD" :biggrin

The Xbox 360 cannot be beaten in terms of simplicity yet outstanding graphics, only the very best of gaming pcs with a £100 graphics card can top the Xbox 360 in terms of visually stunning graphics.

But for how much more simple the Xbox 360 is compared to a Computer is where its had its success in the long run IMO.

    Long Live Xbox 360! :D

Oh and Happy new year to everyone here at cert forums! 8)

I think 2009 was pretty crap when it comes down to new technologies really.

My iPhone which technically was last year but was last few days of dec so this year lol, and have to say that after a year of constant use the touch screen is still as responsive even through a screen protector and everything works fine.

Only other technology I can think of that I loved was the computer of the guy who remapped my car taking it from 175hp 170 lb/ft to 215hp 259 lb/ft making me smile lol

Its a Y reg Seat Leon complete with deceiving tow bar lol

It didnt actually, I still get similar sort of distance. £45 gets me about 230 miles each week.
That said remapping can actually run the engine more efficiently and save fuel, it just depends how heavy the right foot is lol
