Hi Guys,
I am just about to start a job as a data centre techie! I now have the great benefit of leaving the shirt and trousers at home as i can now wear polo shirts I already have 1 HP Polo shirt from a promotion job from a few years back and looking for some more techie shirts! I have scoured the Internet and found the usual MCP/Microsoft/Cisco/Netapp/HP black polo shirts although these are retailing around £15-30 each (and a lot of these do not look genuine), I then thought there must be a few people in CF who have managed to get there hands on some shirts at some point who would be happy to give/Sell them to me. So if you have any then PM me! If anyone knows any good places to buy shirts online then that info would be gratefully received also.

There are some polo shirts at the MCP store for less than $13 us.

 

I could dig up a load of beer/brewery related polo shirts, as for tech ones (except ones from an old company I worked for) - zilch.

I bought a bunch of shirts from Microsoft's company store in Redmond. Had a few given to me over the years from various Microsoft representatives, as well as from TechED events (although the TechED t's are not that great).

The company store did have a pretty funny shirt with the words:
GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

Google employees get some sweet gear too, much more geeky than at Microsoft.

 

Wow I had no idea shipping would be that much to the UK and I guess I didn't really think about it. I don't know if it's still that much but that seems a bit over priced as I can order a football shirt or scarf or something like that from the UK and pay less than half that for S&H.

 

Depends what you mean by 'genuine'.
Do you have to wear a 'techie' shirt? I've got some great polos from John Lewis, soft, light, comfy etc etc.
Anyway, there are plenty of places online that will print and supply Ts or polos etc with any logo or design that you choose to upload - no questions asked - at a fraction of the cost of buying something 'official'. Put your MCP logo on one, or whatever.

I've learned to avoid the techie polo. That way, if you can't fix a problem you can just pretend to be from HR and passing through. Harder to do when you've got a 'Cisco' shirt on.

 

This. In the summer, I'm usually in a T-shirt and shorts. In the winter, it's usually a sweatshirt and jeans.
