Taking 70-687 and 70-68 in the same week

Hi all,

I have been preparing for some time now to certify with the MCSA Windows 8.1.
I'm considering taking both exams within the same week (probably a day or so apart) and I'm just wondering if anyone else has done anything similar ?
If so do do you have any hints or tips?

Yes it's certainly possible, I have done the Windows 7 versions on the same day, one leads to the other.

Just make sure you know the subject matter and you will be fine.

 

Forgot to mention, have you tried any testing software (Boson or Transcender)?

 

As long as you've done the work prior, and you're confident you know it - you should be fine

I did a 70-243 and 70-680 one day after the other

 

Thanks all. I have been using Measure Up Labs and Practice tests along with some Skillport and the Offiicial Microsoft Course books so hopefully will be ready.. Certainly feel ready anway.

Just an update to the above as I have now taken both. Passed the 70-687 but failed the 70-688. Bit gutted but onwards, upwards and back over the material for a re-take.

 

Congrats on the pass mate, atleast you can now focus on that particular test now. You'll smash it next time!

Thanks manc. I have been using a combinations of skillport, measure up practice exams and also used the new Darril Gibson
MCSA Microsoft Windows 8.1 Complete Study Guide: Exams 70-687, 70-688, and 70-689 which I found to really useful as it also has links to electronic flash cards, practice exams.

Thanks so much for your reply. I looked at the Darril Gibson book but it looked like a mammoth read so went with the Exam Ref 70-687: Configuring Windows 8.1 instead which I'm about to finish. I have purchased the Transender practice exams for 70-687 but currently not getting the best of scores when I do a full 50+ practice questions but I know I have to lab and read more, its so hard to get a rhythm going when you can only squeeze in a hour every evening whilst holding down a full-time job and a young family to contend with, I'm about to break out the violin so will stop here .

Cheeky question but could you say the exam was focused on particular subject ie: File History etc
