sys light blinking red

on my dsl modem. It did it for several seconds. Never seen this before nor has it done it since. However, I did find this on google.

So is my modem warning me it is fixing to die? It is my isp modem and they don't give manuals out with it. Anyone have any ideas or links?

To be honest its hard to tell if the modem is issuing a warning signal or not without the manual. My best bet would be to contact the ISP and see what they have to say about it. I personally had a modem die on me and it seemed normal until one day just couldn't connect even though all the proper lights were on. Very deceiving.

 

Ok prof, I will call them tomorrow and see what they have to say. Maybe they will swap it out for me.

With so much going on I've not had time to look into it yet. However, it has not turn red since.

 

I understand.

When you have a chance, if the modem's sys light goes red again, try resetting the modem see if that does anything.
