Strange issue with DVD drive

    Well i did mention tryin another spare drive to eliminate your current drive. That would have resolved the issue mate, glad its sorted fella:)

    Normally when you buy a drive if it's only sold as OEM, then you only get one Bezel front and the usaully list the DVD writers by the colour of the Bezel. Unless you bought the retailversion. which usually comes with software, manuals and Bezels of various colurs suchas black, silver or Creme!8)

    Well the new drive finally arrived today, just put it in. This one is working, strange thing is it came in a different colured box but it's the same drive :blink

    since d device manager indicates dat d drive is ok then its not a code 39 error hence its not a registry problem. I once had a provlem similar to dat on my friend's laptop, she inserts a cd into d drive, u can hear d disc spinnin but d drive shows no disc so i wiped d lens wit a soft cloth, d drive was then able to access d disc. dont knw if dis might help in ur case dats if u av not taken care of it already cuz u sound lik a very intelligent person

    apparently they (Samsung) did 3 versions of this drive, all of them are same apart from one has blue activity light, one green and one red. This one is green the lastone was red.

    Tried everything mate, thats why I sent it back.

    Try not to use text speak it messes with my eyes and mind :blink
